DIRECTOR

Dr.Magimai Pragasam has around thirty years of experience in the field of development communications and media. He holds a master’s degree in sociology. His doctoral thesis was on ‘Empowerment of Women and Communication’.

He completed ‘social communication’ studies at Centre for Research in Communication, Lyon, France and ‘media studies’ at Trinity and All Saints College, Leeds. He undertook television studies’ in NCRTC, Hatch End and ‘Cross cultural communication’ at Selly Oak Colleges, Birmingham. 

He obtained his ‘diploma in film technology’ from Xavier institute of Communications, Mumbai and Journalism from Mysore University.

He is also a certified Master practitioner of Neuro Linguistic Programme from National Federation of NLP, USA and uses NLP techniques for rural poor. He has made over eighty short films on social issues, authored  books on communications and conducted hundreds of training programmes in media and communications  in India as well as abroad for social activists and teaching communities. He has worked as communications consultant for several international organisations, designing training programmes and conducting research.
